Silkorchid Tonkinese

Hi and a warm welcome to our Silkorchid Tonkinese website

We are Christina and Alistair Gordon based in South West Scotland and hobby breeders of Gccf Registered Tonkinese kittens, truly the most wonderful breed of cat.
I am a registered Breeder with the Gccf and member of the Tonkinese Breed Club & Comittee member of the Tonkinese Cat Club
(previously involved in Welfare of the club and in particular rehoming Tonkinese)

So why a Tonkinese?

It's very true 'own a Tonkinese kitten and be forever smitten'
I grew up with an old type Siamese cats Peppy a seal point and my grandmother had a pretty lilac point called Booboo
We have loved and owned various pedigree cats over the years. 2 Siamese Tarquin and Quincey came into our lives in early 90's and fortunately whilst looking for 2 Siamese kittens I discovered the Tonkinese breed in 2005 and have breeding them since 2019. On this site you can meet our Adult Tonkinese Cats and see the Tonkinese kittens that we may have available

'Silkorchid' - A name of great beauty

The name 'Silkorchid' was chosen to be my GCCF prefix for my Tonks as nothing is softer than the super silky coat of the Tonkinese cat. I then combined that with the exquisitely formed orchid, the native flower of Thailand, where the attractive & elegant Tonkinese Cat originates.
